The Seattle Arab and Iranian Film festival is a week-long cinema celebration showcasing the works of some of the most talented Arab and Iranian filmmakers. A biennial tradition, SAIFF has inspired a devoted following of film enthusiasts, Arab and Iranian Americans, and culturally dedicated Seattleites, encouraging a wider understanding and appreciation of the culture and politics of the Middle East.
SAIFF debuted in 1990 in conjunction with the Goodwill Games and is now part of Seattle's unique cinematic tradition and one of the country's largest Arab and Iranian film festivals. As in past years, the festival will take place at the Broadway Performance Hall, with the exception of the opening night screenings at Seattle's Cinerama theater.
This year marks the seventh anniversary of SAIFF. At a time of great upheaval in the Middle East, this year's line-up of short films, features and documentaries is as exciting and relevant as ever.
